Remedial reading classes were undertaken at a vocational rehabilitation centre after it was found that a number of persons at the centre could neither read nor write. Subsequently classes in number and related skills were also added to the curriculum. Assessments after attending classes showed a significant improvement in reading skills and some improvement in number and related skills. Further assessment showed that most of the progress made was retained after six months absence from the classes.-
