Abstract: This under-appreciated garden on the edge of the South Australian desert is a remarkable story of community-driven landscape architecture that foregrounds the remarkable plant life of arid and semi-arid ecosystems. The article discusses the creative and community based origins of the design concept and the design characteristics of the Botanic Garden.
