Abstract: | This thesis applies standard techniques, and develops new techniques for in situ stress determination from data acquired in petroleum exploration. The techniques are applied in four case studies, the Swan Lake Field, South Australia, The Mereenie Field, Northern Territory, the Gulf of Thailand and the Otway Basin, South Australia. The impact of the resultant in situ stress data on exploration and development plans is assessed. |
