Abstract: | This paper presents a technique for quantitative OH-LIF imaging using a single laser and camera system with the aid of a simple reference flame. The reference flame consists of a partially premixed laminar diffusion flame and is imaged simultaneously in the same field of view as a turbulent non-premixed jet flame. The calibrated reference allows corrections for variations in laser power and profile on a single-shot basis and is also used to determine the OH number density in the jet flames. The OH number density in the jet flames found using this experimental technique exhibits very good agreement to that predicted by flame models and previous experimental results obtained from the same burner. |
