Abstract: Here we describe the doryctine wasp Spathius lubomiri sp. n., a highly aberrant member of the genus from Lord Howe Island, which is characterised, among other features, by having the wings reduced to sclerotised rod-like structures, and the dorsal body covered with long bristle-like setae. We also briefly discuss the composition of the hymenopteran fauna and prevalence of reduced wing taxa for the island, and provide a personal account in celebration of Lubo Masner’s 75th birthday.
