Abstract: The PID neural network model was proposed for complex control systems in order to achieve desirable control performance. However, the conventional backward-propagation (BP) algorithm restrains the model's wide applications in control field due to the known reasons. In this paper, a novel variant of particle swarm optimization (PSO), named membrane optimization algorithm based on mutated particle swarm optimaztion (MO-MPSO) is proposed. The MO-MPSO algorithm is an appropriate combination of parison experiments on benchmark functions and the case study show the effectiveness and advantages of the presented algorithm.
